Winter break for students up to Class 8 will start on December 1 in the winter zone of Kashmir. Education Minister Sakina Itoo confirmed that the proposal has been cleared.
She said the break for students from Class 9 to 12 will begin in the second week of December, most likely on December 12 or 13.
The minister said parents had asked for an early announcement because cold weather affects younger students. She added that the department has already reviewed the schedule and decided on an early break for lower classes.
She also said the government has addressed the issue of textbooks and uniforms. Schools have been directed to avoid any shortage.
Two weeks ago KNO reported that the department was planning a phased winter vacation schedule starting in early December for Kashmir’s winter zone.
