Srinagar, Sept 1: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the postponement of the public holiday on account of Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
According to an order issued by the Revenue Department, the holiday earlier scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2025, will now be observed on Saturday, September 6, 2025, across the Union Territory.

The decision came after a request from the Special Officer Auqaf, citing the appearance of the moon. The order also reiterated that all Muslim holidays remain subject to moon sighting.
The General Administration Department has been directed to issue the necessary notification for the revised holiday date.
