Govt Moves to Resolve TET Crisis for In-Service Teachers

The Supreme Court recently made the Teacher Eligibility Test compulsory for all teachers who still have more than five years of service. This caused fear among many senior teachers who have been working for decades without TET.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has stepped in to solve the issue. He said teachers who are already serving the country will not face trouble because of this ruling. He promised to safeguard their jobs through legal support from the central government.

His message reached teachers after he spoke with Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition in West Bengal.

Pradhan is also pushing the National Education Policy 2020. The policy aims to improve education quality. New TET rules will be part of this change. He said the government will upgrade the system without hurting teachers who have given years of service to schools.
