The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has postponed the bi-annual examinations of Class 10 and 11 that were set to be held on August 18, 2025. The decision applies to the entire Union Territory of J&K as well as Leh and Kargil districts of Ladakh.
Officials said the new dates for the exams will be announced separately. The move came after the District Magistrate of Kathua ordered the closure of all schools in the district due to bad weather and cloudburst incidents, prompting concerns for the safety of students.
Authorities have instructed centre superintendents and jurisdictional police officers to be informed immediately. Sub and branch officers have also been asked to circulate the announcement widely through official WhatsApp groups to ensure no candidate misses the update.
