JKBOSE Issues Final Clarification on Re-Admission, Stream Change, and Gap Cases for Class 10th, 11th & 12th

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially issued a detailed clarification regarding Re-Admission, Stream Change, and Gap Cases for students of Class 10th, 11th, and 12th across the Union Territory.

Key Highlights from the Notification:

🔹 Re-Admission in Class 10th & 11th: Students who were on the regular roll and either failed or did not appear in the annual regular examination are eligible for re-admission in the same class for the next academic session.

However, candidates who have already appeared privately, passed, or were not on regular roll will not be allowed to take re-admission in the same class.

🔹 Re-Admission in Class 12th: Class 12th students who were regular candidates and failed or were declared re-appear, or those who filled the exam form but did not appear, are eligible for re-admission in the same stream only, and only for the immediate next session.

No re-admission will be allowed for students who have already passed Class 12th.

🔹 Stream Change (Class 11th to 12th): If a student has passed Class 11th but now wishes to change stream in Class 12th, he/she must:

Cancel the previous result at their own risk.

Enroll afresh in the new stream.

Appear in all compulsory subjects, as no carry forward of previously passed subjects (except English & 5th subject) will be allowed.

🔹 Failing in Class 12th & Stream Change: If a Class 12th student fails and wishes to change stream, the same rule applies. The student must cancel the previous result, and also appear in equivalent Class 11th subjects for the new stream.

Until the new Class 11th result is declared, the student’s Class 12th result will remain withheld.

🔹 Gap Case Clarification: Students who have not taken admission in any class for 3 years after passing the previous class will be treated as gap cases.

They are still eligible for admission in regular mode, provided it is within three academic sessions from the year of last qualification.
