The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has officially announced that the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for J&K and Ladakh will now be called the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Yojana (PM-USP Yojana) starting from the Academic Session 2025-26.
This major initiative offers 100% scholarship to 10+2 passed students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to pursue higher education in top colleges across India.

Eligibility:
Must have passed 10+2 (12th Class) from JKBOSE or CBSE schools located within J&K or Ladakh.
Eligible sessions:
Enrolled in 2023 & passed in 2024
Enrolled in 2024 & passed in 2025
Domicile of J&K or Ladakh
Not receiving any other NSP (National Scholarship Portal) scholarship
Income Limit: Not mentioned in this circular, but typically under ₹8 lakh per annum.
Courses & Streams Covered with Fee Structure:
1. General Degree Courses (Arts, Commerce, Basic Sciences):
BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, BSW,Other undergraduate courses in humanities, commerce & basic sciences
Academic Fee: Up to ₹30,000 per annum
Maintenance Allowance: ₹1.00 lakh per annum (₹10,000/month for 10 months)
2. Professional Courses:
Streams:
Engineering (B.E/B.Tech)
Nursing (B.Sc Nursing)
Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
Hotel Management
Architecture (B.Arch)
BA LLB (via NLU)
Planning, Design, Fashion Tech, etc.
Academic Fee: Up to ₹1.25 lakh per annum
Maintenance Allowance: ₹1.00 lakh per annum
3. Medical & Equivalent Courses:
Streams: MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPT, BMLT, Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences
Academic Fee: Up to ₹3.00 lakh per annum
Maintenance Allowance: ₹1.00 lakh per annum
