Engineer Rashid's Bail Hearing Delayed Again; NIA Seeks More Time
A Delhi Court has postponed the interim bail hearing for Engineer Rashid to July 1. The delay was due to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) requesting more time to provide its response.
Previously, the court had deferred decisions on Rashid’s interim bail plea on several occasions, with the most recent deferral on June 19, 2014. Rashid, who recently defeated former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Baramulla constituency as an Independent in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has been in Tihar Jail since 2019. He faces charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) related to alleged terror funding. (KNS).
