The academic session 2026-27 registration window for 10+2 students begins 16 July 2026, while engineering diploma holders can register from 17 July 2026.
Selected candidates will receive up to ₹1 lakh per annum as maintenance allowance, paid in ten equal instalments through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Registration Dates and Application Window for 10+2 and Diploma Students
As per the official notification (Advt. No. AICTE/SSSJKL Cell/07(02)/2026), the registration schedule is staggered based on qualification. Students who have passed the 10+2 examination from JK BOSE or CBSE schools located in Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh during the 2024-25 or 2025-26 academic sessions are eligible to apply from 16 July.
Engineering diploma holders who passed from the J&K Board of Technical Education in 2025 or 2026 can register for lateral entry admission to the second year of engineering programmes starting 17 July. The last date for both categories is 27 July 2026.

Financial Support: Tuition Fee Caps and Maintenance Allowance Details
The scholarship provides comprehensive financial coverage. For general degree courses, the academic fee is covered up to ₹30,000 per annum. Professional programmes including engineering, nursing, pharmacy, hotel management, architecture (subject to NATA qualification), and BA LLB through NLU receive up to ₹1.25 lakh annually. Medical, BDS, or equivalent courses are covered up to ₹3 lakh per annum.
Beyond tuition, every scholar receives a maintenance allowance of ₹1 lakh per year. This amount is disbursed in ten equal monthly instalments through the NSP, intended to cover hostel fees, mess charges, books, stationery, and other incidental expenses.
Mandatory Document Verification and Facilitation Centres
All registered candidates must physically visit the nearest Facilitation-cum-Document Verification Center (FDVC) for document verification, starting 18 July 2026. The verification portal will close at 5:00 PM on 28 July 2026. AICTE has published the full list of FDVC locations on its official website.
Students who have been verified will be able to fill their course and college choices from 22 July to 31 July 2026. A correction window is also available from 29 July to 30 July 2026 for any discrepancies in the registered information. After 30 July 2026 at 5:00 PM, no update requests will be entertained.
Online Counselling, Seat Allotment, and Confirmation Process
The final merit list will be announced on the student portal on 4 August 2026 at 5:00 PM. Seat allocation through online counselling will be published on 7 August 2026. Candidates who receive an allotment must freeze their seat by accepting it through the portal on the same day before 5:00 PM.
Failure to confirm the allotted seat will result in automatic cancellation and reallocation to another candidate in subsequent rounds. Students who confirm their seats must physically report to the allotted institute between 7 August and 14 August 2026 and upload their joining report. Auto seat cancellation for non-reporting candidates will take effect on 16 August 2026.

Special Provisions for CUET, NEET, and JEE Candidates
AICTE has clarified that if results from NEET, JEE, or CUET counselling are announced before the SSSJKL counselling process begins, students must immediately inform AICTE about their allotment in those examinations. This allows vacant seats to be reallocated to waiting candidates. Students can update their entrance examination details through a specific option visible on the portal after login.
For students selected in Central Universities such as Delhi University or Jamia Millia Islamia through CUET, the allotment letter issued by AICTE under SSSJKL will remain valid until the university completes its admission formalities. Subsequent Counselling Rounds and Grievance Redressal
AICTE has stated that a subsequent round of allotment will be conducted only if the number of confirmed and frozen seats in the first round is less than 5,000. The second round will be triggered automatically based on seat availability and vacancy data reported by institutes.
Institutes are required to verify documents and confirm student joining on the portal once the student physically reports. This helps AICTE track vacant seats for future rounds. For students whose academic session is delayed, online joining confirmation is permitted, provided the institute obtains written consent from the student through their registered email.
All grievances must be submitted via email to jkadmission2026@aicte-india.org or through the central grievance portal. AICTE has specified that grievances will only be entertained if the Candidate ID, full name, and active mobile number are mentioned in the email.
