The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has released a new notification clarifying the status of students who appeared in two annual examinations during the same academic year due to restoration of the academic calendar.

According to the notification issued by the Academic Division, the annual examinations for Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th were conducted in November and December 2025 instead of February and March 2026. This change followed the government decision to restore the academic session to the October to November schedule, especially for the Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division and Ladakh.

Key points from the notification:

• Students who qualified Class 10th and Class 11th examinations in the February to March 2025 session had to appear again in the next annual examination held in October to November 2025 due to the academic calendar shift. • As a result, many candidates completed two annual examinations in the same year 2025. • The board has officially declared that this academic intervention will be treated as valid for all admission, academic, and professional purposes. • A specific note will be included on diplomas and qualification certificates explaining that the examination schedule was adjusted because of restoration of the academic session.

The notification was issued by the Director Academics and dated 16 February 2026. It has been circulated to school education authorities, administrative departments, and board officials for implementation and public information.

This clarification is expected to remove confusion among students and institutions regarding the validity of results obtained during the transition period and ensure that admissions and future academic processes continue without any complications.
