Srinagar, Feb 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has invited applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Lecturers and Teachers on academic arrangement basis for the Academic Session 2026 in various Waqf educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir.
The recruitment is being carried out under Advertisement Notice No. JKWB/Edu/1126 dated 19-02-2026. The earlier notification issued on 10-02-2026 has been cancelled.
Vacancies are available in Higher Secondary, Secondary, and Middle Schools located in Awantipora, Anantnag, Tangmarg, Budgam, Pulwama, Bandipora, Kabamarg, and Sopore.

Selection Process and Weightage
Selection will be made on the basis of relative merit on a 100-point scale.
For Lecturer posts:
Master’s Degree carries 60 marks on pro rata basis.
B.Ed carries 5 marks.
M.Ed carries 5 marks.
M.Phil carries 2 marks.
Ph.D carries 3 marks.
Direct Ph.D carries 3 marks.
Experience carries 5 marks with 1 mark for each academic session.
Interview or demonstration carries 20 marks.
For Teacher posts:
Graduation carries 50 marks on pro rata basis.
Master’s Degree in relevant subject carries 10 marks.
B.Ed carries 5 marks.
M.Ed carries 5 marks.
M.Phil carries 2 marks.
Ph.D carries 3 marks.
Direct Ph.D carries 5 marks.
Experience carries 5 marks with 1 mark for each academic session.
Interview or demonstration carries 20 marks.
Important Dates and Conditions
Applications must be submitted to the concerned Principals of respective Waqf institutions up to 26-02-2026 during office hours.
Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be conducted at the Central Waqf Office, Sonwar, Srinagar near Burn Hall School. The interview schedule will be communicated separately.
Candidates must produce original documents at the time of verification.
Candidates belonging to the same district may be given preference in case of equal merit.
Honorarium
Lecturers will receive Rs 12,000 per month.
Teachers will receive Rs 9,000 per month.
The engagement is purely for Academic Session 2026 and does not confer any right to continuation or regularization.
