JKBOSE Announces 15% Syllabus Relaxation for Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th (Oct–Nov 2025 Exams)

Srinagar, Oct 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced a 15% relaxation in syllabus for students of Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th appearing in the Annual Regular 2025 (Oct–Nov) examinations for Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division, including UT of Ladakh.

According to the notification issued by the Board, the relaxation has been granted following recommendations from the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) and Jammu, due to the disruption of the academic calendar caused by heat waves, torrential rains, cloudbursts, and floods earlier this year.

The notification states that students will have to attempt 85% of the question paper, which will correspond to 100% marks, effectively availing the 15% syllabus relaxation. However, question papers will be set from the complete syllabus, and students will get internal choice to attempt the required portion.

The Board also mentioned that each MCQ will be marked individually, and the same evaluation pattern will apply to grammar sections in language papers.

The relaxation aims to ease the academic pressure on students affected by weather-related disruptions and the delayed start of the session.
