The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially released the notification for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2026 for admission into Class 6 across 654 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in the country. The online application process is now live on the official website www.navodaya.gov.in, and the last date to apply is July 29, 2025.

🗓️ Exam Dates:
Phase 1: 13th December 2025 (Most districts including Jammu Division)
Phase 2: 11th April 2026 (Kashmir Valley, Leh, Kargil & NE states)
🧾 Eligibility Criteria:
The child must be born between 01-05-2014 and 31-07-2016.
Must be studying in Class 5 during the academic year 2025-26 in a Govt./Govt.-recognized school.
Must reside and study in the same district where admission is being sought.
Students who have already passed Class 5 before 2025–26 are not eligible.
Students must have studied in Classes 3, 4 & 5 from rural schools to be eligible under the rural quota.

Photograph of student
Signature of student and parent
Aadhaar Card or valid Residence Certificate
Study certificates for Classes 3, 4 & 5
Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC – only Central List accepted)
Disability certificate (if applicable)
📚 Exam Pattern:
Duration: 2 hours (11:30 AM to 1:30 PM)
Total Questions: 80, Total Marks: 100
Sections:
🧠 Mental Ability – 40 Questions (50 Marks)
➕ Arithmetic – 20 Questions (25 Marks)
📖 Language – 20 Questions (25 Marks)
No negative marking
Exam will be conducted in regional languages opted by the candidate
🔁 Important: Migration in Class 9
Under the migration policy, around 30% of Class 9 students are shifted to JNVs in other states for 1 year to promote national integration. Consent for this is taken at the time of Class 6 admission. Students refusing migration may lose admission.

Class 11: Merit-based (only if seats vacant)
No admissions in Class 7, 8 or 10
