Light Snowfall Expected Again in Some Higher Regions(Kashmir): MeT Director

Srinagar, 30 Aug (CNS): Following recent light snowfall in some higher areas of the valley, Srinagar's MeT Director, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, has forecast similar snowfall for today in other high-altitude regions of Kashmir.

According to CNS, Dr Mukhtar mentioned that certain mountainous areas could see light snowfall again today. He also anticipated a temporary break in the ongoing light rains until the night of 2nd September, with another spell likely to commence between 2nd and 3rd September.

The valley, along with some parts of Jammu, has been experiencing intermittent rain, which is expected to continue until tomorrow. However, dry weather is predicted from 4th to 7th September.

“There is also a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in Jammu and moderate precipitation in some areas of Kashmir tonight,” Dr Mukhtar added.

Starting from 4th September, the Director of MeT noted that temperatures are expected to gradually rise. (CNS)
