Schools to Reopen in Kashmir from May 13, Border Areas Exempted: DSEK


 

Srinagar, May 12 (KNS) – Schools across most parts of the Kashmir Valley are set to reopen on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after being closed due to recent India-Pakistan tensions.

However, educational institutions in the border districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Gurez sub-division of Bandipora will continue to remain closed until further notice.

Director of School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo, confirmed the reopening while speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), stating that all schools will resume operations on May 13, except in the mentioned border areas.


The schools had earlier been closed as a precaution following cross-border firing between Indian and Pakistani 

forces.
